Valerie Verbist has a diverse and well-rounded background in healthcare, having worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, primary care clinics, prison/correctional medicine, and specialty care clinics. Valerie was awarded the Wisconsin Department of Corrections SALUTE award in 2019, showcasing her ability to connect with patients from all backgrounds. Valerie has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys spending time hiking, biking, camping, and gardening. She also enjoys playing, watching, and coaching sports.
Health care should be a team effort from both providers and the patient, and the patient should have an active role in it. I value the patient’s perspective and will always be an active listener.
